On Multi-Media and Collaboration
By
combining all these different media and collaborating together, we have actually found a reductive sense of who and what we
are as Black Lake. At times the first gesture may be a string of words around which we build video art imagery, sound
art, sculpture, paintings, melodies and movements. Another time it may be the video imagery that starts the ball rolling.
Always, however, we approach our work from the Black Lake itself. We use urban and rural nature as a mirror or a crystal
ball in which we find our voice and image. Black Lake
